Paitkar art is a traditional form of scroll painting practiced by the Santhal tribe in Amadubi village, located in the Dhalbhumgarh region of Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district. Historical Background

The origins of Paitkar art trace back to the reign of King Ramachandra Dhal of Dhalbhumgarh. A group of 22 Paitkar artists, known for their painting and singing, were invited to adorn the queen's bedroom. Impressed by their work, the king granted them land in Amadubi village, where they settled and continued their artistic traditions.
